The Medical Treatment Program (the recent injectable medications) includes a coaching program over 2 years and ongoing reviews. This is same coaching program that forms part of the bariatric surgery program and taken off the surgical program cost in the event surgery is subsequently undertaken - this allows you to not need to be so worried about costs moving forward. There is also the cost of the medication for you to factor in.

The Gastric Balloon Program (Insertion and associated aftercare with reviews and dietitian consultations) costs from $6500. Note the gastric balloon does not attract a Medicare rebate

The Bariatric Surgery Program (No Gap Surgery costs and 2 year Aftercare and Coaching Support Program) costs from $4990....If you do not have Private Health insurance then the Hospital needs to obtain their own costs from you (surgery equipment, nurses, hospital bed etc..) and total cost start from $16 990. In certain circumstances you can access Superannuation on compassionate grounds to help fund this.
